THE KEYBOARD

Ø This is used as an input device(for typing data into a computer).

FUNCTIONS OF KEYS FOUND ON THE KEYBOARD.

• Functional keys-these keys are used to perform specific commands or access menus within a program.
• Escape key-this helps in aborting anwanted operation
• Delete key-used to cancel unwanted characters and words towards the right hand side of the cursor.
•  Space bar key-used to give/leave space between words.
•  Enter key-used to commit an operation.
• Arrow keys-used to manipulate the position of the cursor.
• Home key-this simply takes you to the beginning of a document. 
•  Tab key-this moves the cursor from one field to another.
• Shift, Control & Alt keys-are used in conjunction with one or more character keys to perform an operation or access special commands by holding down one of the keys and pressing another at the same time.
•  Caps lock key-this is used to change cases from upper case to lower case and vice versa.(changing small letters to capital letters and capital letters back to small letters).
•  Backspace key- this key is use d to move back by canceling the unwanted letters and words towards the left. End key-this takes you to the end of a document.
